If you see Frenchies Poutinerie’s food truck out and about, don’t expect to get any poutine.

The popular poutinerie’s food truck was stolen from downtown Kamloops last week and has yet to be found.

According to CBC and pictures from Frenchies Poutinerie, the silver, 23-feet-long trailer has a deep fryer vat extending out of the roof, an awning, and the circular Frenchies Poutinerie logo.

Additionally, one side of the truck has a giant poutine decal. It’s quite hard to miss.

Frenchies was scheduled to be a food vendor at the Rockin’ River Country Music Festival in Meritt, B.C. last Friday.

Accordingly, the truck was stocked with approximately 550 kilograms worth of potatoes.

In a post on their Facebook page, Frenchies Poutinerie pleaded for the public’s help tracking down the food truck:

“I have put my heart and sweat into this thing. Not to mention the countless hours of customizing it and getting it ready for events. We have been prepping for the past week for our big event this weekend. We have several thousand pounds of potatoes cut and prepped just to have someone %*#%+ steal it….”

The owner, Élie Hana, and manager, Sean Lyons, are more saddened than angry.

“I wouldn’t even press charges or anything. Maybe we can have a good talk to see why you took it. I’m not here to judge. […] There’s no really good reason, but you know, people can do desperate things when they have bad situations in life or during a desperate moment in their life. So, I can understand why some people do what they do.”

Since it was stolen, the poutine wagon has been spotted in Salmo, and then Abbotsford.
