The Fair At The PNE Returns With New Entertainment And Attractions

The PNE recently released its summer concert line-up for the 2017 Fair at the PNE. In addition, new entertainment and attractions are being welcomes this season.

The Fair will be open from Saturday, August 19th, 2017 until Monday, September 4th, 2017. Moreover, it will closed on Monday, August 21st, and Monday, August 28th.

This year’s Fair is slated to be even bigger with special shows to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. Internationally acclaimed musical acts, entertainment, rides, and food are all in the books.

New Entertainment & Attractions (All free with park admission)

Northern Light Sky (Nightly at 10:30 p.m.)

The skies above the Fair at the PNE will come to life through innovative drone technology at the end of each night. The display helps celebrate Canada’s northern lights.

Community spotlight (Daily from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Enjoy a mixture of cultural festivals, summer pop-up markets, and community showcases.

Hockey Hall of Fame (Daily from 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.)

Explore everything hockey without having to go to the Hockey Hall of Fame itself. With more than 5,000 square feet of artifacts, artwork, photography and video, this unique retrospective will take both young and old for a walk down memory lane. Displays will give visitors a unique insight into some of the game’s biggest stars. The display is only being put on for this year.

Toytopia (Daily from 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.)

This is for the kid in all of us. Explore some the world’s most beloved toys and arcade games. It features multiple play zones, a larger-than-life Jack in The Box, the science of toys from Furby, a Toytopia exclusive LEGO Train Layout, LEGO Play Area and LEGO Building Wall with dozens of LEGO pop culture ­figures on display, the World’s Largest Etch A Sketch and the world’s Smallest G-Scale figure 8-train layout, a retro arcade zone featuring working, classic games, a life-size doll house, a life-size Monopoly car photo op, Zoltar, and much more.

Craft Beer Fest (Daily from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.)

Craft Beer Fest will feature up to 30 craft breweries along with local wineries for guests to sample the diverse craft drafts and wines being developed within the Lower Mainland’s backdoor. Tickets are $5 online and $7 at the gate.

PNE Prize Home (Tours daily from 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.)

The stunning 3,100 square-foot home features three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a home theatre, entertainment lounge in addition to floor-to-ceiling living space. This year they are offering, two tickets for $25, six tickets for $50, and 15 tickets for $100. The 2017 Grand Prize Home Package is valued at $2 million.

Kaleidoscope on Parade (Daily at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m.)

Kaleidoscope on Parade is a true display of Canadian culture, where the colors of the country bloom.

2017 PNE Donut Dash 5K Run (Sunday, August 20th, 2017, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.)

Run 5k while being energized with tasty Fair treats throughout the course including mini donuts. When you register, you will get a PNE Donut Dash buff, race bib, finisher’s medal and Fair gate admission to The Fair at the PNE on Sunday, August 20th, 2017.

Kidz Discovery Farm (Daily from 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.)

Kids get an opportunity to learn about 10 exciting agriculture sectors and how their food gets from the farm to their local grocery store. They will get the chance to mimic milking a cow, pedalling a tractor, collecting eggs and harvesting apples. Admission is free.

Farm Country (Daily from 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.)

This annual favorite plays host to the largest variety of barn animals found in Vancouver. Furthermore, it will have many unique demonstrations and displays of new urban agriculture awareness, education, and engagement. Admission is free.

BCAA ToonCity (Daily from 11:00 a.m. – dusk)

Families can join in at Art in the Park, Princess Jubilation, and Safari Adventure with Action Austin. Play and dance to some of the Fair’s biggest attractions. Admission is free.

Learn to Fish at The Fair (Daily from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

Free with admission, learn how to fish in Sanctuary Pond from Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. staff. Participants of all ages can learn the basics of fishing which includes hatchery roles, local conservation concerns, fishing equipment, casting, and how to rig a rod.

Dueling Pianos (Nightly at 7:00 p.m. & 9:45 p.m.)

Every night, two piano players go head-to-head and raise the roof with great music. Visitors can request their favorite tunes, sing-a-long, raise-a-glass and hit the dance floor. Admission is free.

Canada Showcase (Daily at 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., & 5:00 p.m.)

Canada Showcase presents a cultural mosaic of dynamic dancers, exhilarating music, and special guests, delighting fairgoers of all ages with a showcase of Canadian talent. The event is free with park admission.

President’s Choice SuperDogs (Daily at 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., & 5:00 p.m.)

Come out and cheer on Canadian breeds for this fun-and-furry celebration that will have visitors laughing and cheering for the world’s most amazing dogs. It is free with park admission.

UNBELIEVABLE: A Magical Experience (Nightly at 7:30 p.m.)

The show allows you to witness unbelievable illusions and explore the world of magic. Admission is free or you have the option to reserve premium seats. They are $12 per person or $40 per family of four.
