As if technology wasn’t crazy enough these days, KLM airlines has taken social networking and air travel to an entirely new level! KLM airlines is introducing what they call “Meet & Seat.” The concept behind Meet & Seat, is to allow airline passengers to choose their seating on the air craft based on seat mates profiles with the help of Facebook and LinkedIn.
Basically, once you’ve purchased your ticket, you have the option of providing how ever much information you wish to share from your Facebook or LinkedIn profile to your fellow seat mates. Next, you see who’s selected their seats already, and you can click on their profiles and have access to however much of their profiles they’re willing to share. Based off what you see, you get the choice of choosing who you want to be seated next to!
This concept is being tested in the Vancouver market, as well as other areas, all you need to participate in this unique experience is have a Facebook or LinkedIn profile! It’s definitely a unique take on air travel that is sure to have interesting outcomes!
