The Origins of Daylight Saving Time
The Globe and Mail shared an insightful (and super cute) video on YouTube about how Daylight Saving Time came to be.
“The earliest published discussion of Daylight Saving Time was a 1784 essay.”
But, Benjamin Franklin’s logic did not suffice.
It wasn’t until the end of the First World War in 1918 that Daylight Saving Time was adopted nationally across Canada.
However, Saskatchewan eliminated Daylight Saving Time in 1966, since people believed the time change was disturbing the province’s dairy cows!
