Canada has nabbed the second spot on a new report ranking the best countries in the world.
US News partnered with Y&R BAV Consulting and the Wharton School to compile a list of the top countries.
While Switzerland came in first place, Canada was right behind them. Third place went to the UK, fourth to Germany and fifth to Japan.
Canada ranks high in the “Quality of Life,” “Citizenship,” and “Entrepreneurship” categories.
Canada has a good quality of life, due to being economically stable, a good job market, and our well-developed public health system.
Citizenship ranks high due to gender equality, religious freedom, and being a country that respects property rights.
Entrepreneurship also has high rankings because of an educated population, well-developed infrastructure and being connected to the rest of the world.
The report looked at 80 countries through a survey of more than 21,000 people.
It’s a big year for Canada. Our country was voted the top place to travel to by Lonely Planet in 2017.
