Three people were targeted in an assault at the Calgary Stampede Midway on Tuesday, July 8.
Calgary police are currently investigating the matter after the victims were sent to hospital in serious condition.
MULTIPLE INCIDENTS
The incident occurred at approximately 11:05pm on July 8 with police responding to reports of an assault near the Euroslide ride in the Midway. Located there was a man in medical distress, who was transported to Foothills hospital with life-threatening injuries that were consistent with a stabbing. He is now in stable condition.
Not long after this, officers responded to two more reports of individuals in medical distress. One was a youth in the 17th Avenue and Macleod Trail S.E. area, and the other was a man near Erlton Street and 27th Avenue. They were also brought to Foothills hospital.
The victims all had stab wound injuries.
Police said in a news release on Wednesday morning, July 9, “Investigators have since determined that both were also victims of the same assault that occurred on the Midway. They were transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.”
WITNESSES
Furthermore, the incidents are not believed to be random. The suspects remain at large.
The police believe that there were a large number of witnesses for each incident, as well as a number of people who recorded them on their phones.
