Salmon Arm

The Salmon Arm case occurred on August 8 at approximately 5:56pm, when Salmon Arm RCMP responded to a report of a fire on the 300-block Trans Canada Highway SW in Salmon Arm. There, officers discovered a brush fully engulfed in flames, which was threatening a nearby business.

After the fire was extinguished, an investigation determined that the fire had been intentionally set. The suspect was located and arrested the following day, with the Western Standard reporting that the suspect was a 33-year-old woman. Reportedly, no charges were laid.

Vernon Fires

Two days later, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP arrested a woman for allegedly setting fire to property at Kin Beach. According to the news release, the woman was seen setting fire to a newspaper box at the beach and then walking away. The woman was quickly located and arrested that same day.

  •  two counts, arson in relation to property
