Minami

What they had to say about it: When celebrating special occasions and bringing visitors from other parts of the world, Minami is always on our list. What makes this place so special is their Premium Oshi Trio consisting of a combination of three flavourful, rich aburi-style “flamed seared” sushi. Try our favourite Albacore Tuna and Otoro aburi! The melt-in-your-mouth buttery experience will leave you wanting more.

What they had to say about it: Aburi sushi is one of my favourite types of sushi and my ultimate go-to place is this hidden gem tucked away in New West. It may look unassuming but they have some of the best aburi sushi I’ve ever had. Their rolls are delicious, affordable, and give you that melt-in-your-mouth taste! My top picks here are their scallop and salmon aburi rolls.

📍Uma Sushi Bar [Vancouver, BC] . 👍🏻 Tuna Tataki | $12 👍🏻 Sea bass | $3.50/pc 👍🏻 Saba Oshi | $12.95 . The nigiri here is LEEEGIT 🔥 I highly recommend to try their daily special, as they are better quality with a reasonable price compared to the regular menu ❤️ I ordered a few to try, and my favourite is the kampachi and sea bass 🤤. So fresh, and the additional touches and sauce are delightful 👍🏻. . I also enjoyed the saba oshi, as it is hard to find a sushi place that serve non-fishy and fresh saba 🤔 It comes in 6 pieces, and I think the flavor is on point ☺️. My friend said that salmon oshi is not as great though. — Taste: 💋💋💋💋 Service: 👼🏻👼🏻👼🏻👼🏻 Ambiance: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Quality-Price: 💸💸💸💸 — #pigoutyvr #umasushi_van #seabass #kampachi #tunatataki #sabaoshi #hiddengem #nomsmag #vancouverfoodie #vancityeats #buzzfeedfood #dishedvan #curiocityvan #foodietribe #yelpvancouver #fbcigers #crunchvancouver #yvreats #yvrblogger #vanmagram #wherevancouver #topvancouverrestaurants #foodblogger #vancouvereats #vancouverisawesome #foodstyling #spoonfeed #foodpornshare #narcityvan #eatcouver

What they had to say about it: This little spot has become one of my favourite places for sushi. High-quality and fresh sashimi is served at a reasonable price. They even have specialties like sea bass, kampachi, and king salmon.  Each piece is delightfully garnished and paired with fresh wasabi. If you are looking for something creative, they also serve unique and cute sushi donuts during lunch time.

What they had to say about it:  Without a doubt, Sushi by Yuji is a hidden gem of East Vancouver. The cozy spot specializes in using only the freshest ingredients. The staff here is always friendly and welcoming so every visit here is a guaranteed pleasant experience.

My favourite dish from here is the Ikura Nigiri topped with Quail Egg. Each bite is heavenly as you feel all the flavours blasting in your mouth! They also occasionally have unique offerings sometimes like in this video above, featuring “Flying Fish” Tabiuo. Be sure to ask for what their daily specials are when you visit!

I'm thankful for places like @sushicalivan that provide decent sushi at student-friendly prices 🙏 📸: Sushi Pizza, Salmon Battera, Calamari Crunch Roll, Salmon Mountain Roll, and B.C. Roll Out of all the items here, the only one I did not like was the Salmon Battera, which had way too much rice and not enough salmon. Not pictured is the Salmon Sashimi, which I highly recommend because they give you 5 big pieces for less than $7 (half portion) 😋 What are some other good, cheap sushi places in Vancouver? 👇 #sushi #sushigram #sushipizza #sushitime #sushilovers #salmon #dishedvan #foodcouver #eatcouver #vancouverfoodie #vanfoodie #yvrfoodie #vancityeats #vaneats #yvreats #604eats #igvancouver #foodie #foodshare #foodstagram #foodporn #foodblogger #getinmybelly #omnomnom #yummy #instafood #igfood

Green Leaf Sushi Cafe

Recommended by:  @vanfoodventure

What they had to say about it: Have you tried deep fried sushi? If you have never, head on over to Green Leaf Sushi Cafe to try their ‘OMG’ sushi roll. This deep-fried, golden-looking roll is filled with prawn, salmon, crabmeat and avocado, served with soy glaze and drizzled with wasabi sauce. The crispy tempura crust gives this roll added texture, and the sauce gives it a spicy kick making it even more delicious!
