Best Pubs Near UBC
The Pit Pub UBC is located at 6133 University Boulevard. It is safe to say that if you can’t find your friends on a Wednesday night, they’re probably at The Pit. This past year, it went through a huge renovation moving into the Nest, and giving it a brand new, chic look. With a giant AV wall, a fancy new sound system, and a drink list carrying a variety of local craft beer, The Pit will once again be THE place on campus to watch the game, have a drink, meet your friends and (most likely) embarrass yourself.
Mahony & Sons UBC is located at 5990 University Boulevard. Mahony & Sons is a delicious place to be between 3–6 pm Monday to Friday. Happy hour features include local pints, craft bottles, highballs and select shots. This campus location also offers up live music and sports on HDTV.
Koerner’s Pub is located at 6371 Crescent Road. They take their beer and food very seriously here. All of their meats and poultry are hormone free, naturally raised – and free range and organic whenever possible. With their beer, all of the barley and hops were ethically treated and lived very full, meaningful lives. It’s safe to say you will be guilt-free and ready to party hard!
The Cove Pub is located at 3681 West 4th Avenue. Over the past 30 plus years the Cove Pub has made a reputation for itself as a comfortable, yet stylish pub that blends old school with urban. Kitsilano has some of the best scenery available in the 604 and The Cove Neighborhood Pub is adding to its diversity. Enjoy daily drink specials available until 11 p.m. every night.
Darby’s Public House & Liquor Store is located at 2001 MacDonald Street. It’s a bit further off the UBC campus, but still worthy of a late night drink. Darby’s Public House is a local and independent establishment that has been part of the Kitsilano community for over 30 years. With over 30 beers to choose from, the public house offers Kitsilano’s best selection of craft beer on tap. If the sun is shining, make sure to check out their patio that offers an unobstructed views of the North Shore Mountains.
Displace Hashery is located at 3293 West 4th Avenue. If you are seeking a fun and friendly environment with tasty local, organic food and local craft brews, free live events and one of the best patios in Kitsilano, then Displace can be your 2nd home. Those long days on campus can get pretty depressing, but having a friendly neighbourhood pub sure helps!
