Asides from several boats washing up on the rocks at English Bay, BC Ferries vessels were being slammed by massive waves during today’s windstorm.
Strong northwest winds gusting up to 80 km/h have been hammering the region throughout the day.
As a result, BC Ferries has been forced to cancel a number of sailings, including many between Schwartz Bay and Tsawwassen.
The storm has cancelled a lot of #BCFerries sailings between Schwartz Bay and Tsawwassen, including our original 9 pm sailing. Crossing fingers the weather calms down and everyone can travel safe! #BCStorm

Okay, the 12pm #BCFerries sailing to Victoria will board shortly. So glad I waited and got a ticket! All sailings afterwards are canceled until the wind subsides. #BCStorm pic.twitter.com/REcXcPUKCY

Was nothing learned from the MESS this winter w/ the snow & Easter weekend!?! Why are things so chaotic & unorganized? Why isn’t there a plan in place for bad weather & increased traffic? Get it together #bcferries. This is not the 3rd world but your service is horrible.
