There are four different Murder is a Drag shows (so far!) – each one is a different chapter in the show series. They are standalone shows (you don’t need to see them in any particular order).
Chapter 1: Dinner Date With Death
Friday, December 11 2026: Special Holiday Edition
A murder mystery set at a restaurant with some very spicy drama! Can you solve the murder? This very first Murder is a Drag show started at a small venue on Davie Street and has now been staged almost a dozen times!
Chapter 2: Wake the Dead
Friday, September 25, 2026
This show takes place at a memorial for a local business man (please wear black) but be prepared for tears of laughter when the drama starts to unfold. This chapter premiered in May 2024 with two back-to-back sold out shows in one night!
Chapter 3: Rhinestones are Forever
Friday, November 20, 2026
You are guests at a wedding (wedding attire encouraged)! This show premiered at Dine Out Vancouver Festival in January 2025 with 3 sold out dinner shows and two sold out brunches.
Chapter 4: Killer Birthday Special Halloween Edition
Friday October 16, 2026
It’s Sandee’s birthday and you are all invited to her surprise party. This show premiered at Dine Out Vancouver Festival in January 2026 with a six show run.
How it Works
You don’t have to participate, you can just watch the show. If you just want to watch, we recommend you don’t sit in the first row or along the aisles.
- Eager to be a part of the fun? Plan to arrive early if you are hoping for a role in the show (a line to say, an action, a prop). Costumes encouraged. If you didn’t receive specific instructions or a prop from an Experience Host before the show you will have opportunities to help the detective along the way. If the detective asks a question – call out your answer!
- There are puzzles to solve – this is a Vancouver Mysteries experience after all! During the show you will receive puzzles to solve – it will reveal important clues to the mystery.
- This is a collaborative and social experience – you may be seated with other people. You can choose to solve the mystery together as a team or on your own, it’s up to you.
- You will be seated during this experience – guests will be seated and the mystery will unfold around you. There is a stage area but the cast will also move around the room.
- The bar is open during the show. You can order during the show and there are also two intermissions.
- Performances – the cast is entirely made up of drag performers from our Murder is a Drag Ensemble – the three suspects and the detective in this murder mystery are drag performers and they will also perform songs.
- Prizes! You can vote for who you think is the murderer! A winner will be drawn from the correct answers.
