The Pacific National Exhibition kicks off the 103rd annual Fair at the PNE Saturday August 17. Running until Monday, September 2 (closed Mondays August 19 and 26) this beloved annual tradition celebrates the best entertainment of the summer.
New to this year’s Fair at the PNE is Genghis Khan: The Exhibition, honouring the world’s greatest conqueror and leader who was responsible for bringing us passports, paper money and the pony express. Also be sure to check out Dueling Pianos in the Plaza Beer Garden, the totally tubular 80s Forever party and the gravity-defying Sportacular show.
This year’s Summer Night Concerts lineup has something for everyone, featuring legendary classics, electronic pop, country, rock and indie-folk music. Concerts will run every evening at 8:30pm over the 15 days of the Fair.
A popular act and huge crowd pleaser, the Superdogs, will be back for 2013. Also returning is the action packed Family Feud Live! and the gravity-defying performance by the Peking Acrobats. Don’t forget to check out the 4-H Festival or visit the Kidz Discovery Farm. Also, take a tour of the 3,000 square foot PNE Prize Home, designed by former Bachelorette and HGTV host of Love It or List It Vancouver, Jillian Harris.
The Fair at the PNE will be closed the first two Mondays, August 19 and August 26, allowing for the savings associated with the reduction of costs over The Fair’s two traditionally slowest days to be passed on to guests. Fairgoers of this year’s Fair will see a 20% reduction in pricing of general admission and parking.
