Block House Hotel in Gastown
If you love a loft, then you’ll definitely want to be booking a night in Block House. The suits are loft-style, with only 19 rooms available. These rooms are “uniquely designed”, as well as inspired by flexible living; some even have full kitchens or kitchenettes. They’ve got that mid-century aesthetic, too.

You stay in Block House is meant to feel personal and connected to the neighbourhood. It’s all about “more room, more flexibility, and a stronger sense of place.” Block House celebrates Vancouver’s history “while meeting the way people want to travel today.”

Block House’s original building was first built back in 1893 as the “Commercial Block” that was the hub for rail-based trade. It was designed by architect William Blackmore and was built by the Hunter Brothers. Early 2026 saw its restoration begin, with the top three floors being turned into the Block House’s suites.
Bookings open on Friday, March 13. April rates begin at $259.
