On Tuesday, kids across the Lower Mainland returned to school and police were out making sure drivers were driving safely. Unfortunately, that wasn’t necessarily the case in Surrey, where police handed out 12 violation tickets for speeding in a school zone.

School zone speed limits are 30 km/h from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Fines for speeding in these zones start at $197 and can go up to $368 for excessive speeding.
