It’s one of the 15 largest cruise ships in the world, and it stopped into Victoria’s Ogden point on Friday, June 1st.
As the largest cruise ship to ever dock in BC, the Norwegian Bliss made a splash in the headlines.
And, it isn’t hard to see why. Not only does it soar, with an incredible 20 decks, but it is the length of three football fields. Accommodating 4,200 passengers and 1,500 crew members, the mega-ship truly resembles a floating city.
In addition, the beautiful Bliss has a two-level go kart track, multi level waterslides, broadway level entertainment, a multi-level water slide, 29 restaurants, and much more.
Now that the towering vessel has completed her inaugural West Coast voyage, she’ll begin an Alaskan route for the summer season. The route is round-trip Seattle; however, it makes one stop in Victoria during the week’s voyage on the return trip home. As a result, she’ll visit Ogden point frequently.

Norwegian Bliss in Vancouver
Of course, the behemoth won’t be able to visit the City of Vancouver, because she can’t fit under the Lions Gate Bridge. With that being said, other cities in Metro Vancouver could accommodate these colossal vessels in the future.
In fact, Richmond and Delta have both been considered as potential ports. The demand for these ships is huge; fans of cruising are no doubt familiar with the big names and their latest offerings.
In fact, Vancouverites fly to American ports such as Miami, Los Angeles and New York just to cruise on these larger vessels.
