Many Vancouverites already disliked features of the old YVR Airport parking lot. Now, the new one promises a far longer journey from the terminal.
While much bigger, the new lot is a full 2.5 km away, and involves a skytrain ride to get to (unless you’re in the mood for a post-flight hike).
Of course, this lot is available for those wishing to store their vehicles while they are away. The new parkade includes six-level with approximately 2,200 stalls and will cost $15 a day to use.
The old Value Lot closed on March 1st, and the new one is called Value Long Term. These changes come alongside a massive, $5.6 billion reconstruction at the airport.

YVR Airport Parking Lot Travel
The lot is located near the outlet mall at the Templeton SkyTrain station, so travellers may use transit. While it isn’t incredibly complicated, it does create an extra step in people’s itineraries; however, it is only four minutes of extra travel, and completely free of charge.
“As YVR experiences record passenger growth, the new parking lot marks one of our ongoing multi-year expansion projects that will ensure we continue to deliver an exceptional airport experience,” said Scott Norris, Vice President, Commercial Development, Vancouver Airport Authority. “While travellers become familiar with the new lot, we encourage them to leave extra time and have a parking plan in place before heading to the airport.”
The lot can be accessed from Grant McConachie Way or Templeton Station road.
The outlet mall located near YVR airport is also undergoing changes, and a massive expansion is underway.
