After much speculation, one of the 604’s tallest buildings, the 48-storey Wall Centre on Burrard Street, will have it’s glass replaced on the floor’s top levels to give the building a uniform look, and fix some minor issues.
The top 17 floors of the 48-storey building currently feature clear glass, which will soon be replaced with darker glass that will match the 31 floors below. An issue back in 2011, found many tenants complaining about the translucent glass, saying it caused air to leak, allowing the glass to fog.
By replacing the translucent glass with the darker glass, energy efficiency is said to improve, as well as give the building a uniform look. The replacement of the glass will begin in April, and should be finished within 7 months.
