Vancouver’s famous Empire Landmark Hotel will say its final goodbye to the city this weekend after 44 years.

The hotel’s final guests check out this Saturday in a move that makes many across the city sad.

Its future? It awaits to be demolished, turning into two new condominium towers at a date yet to be determined.

Vancouver’s expensive real estate market has seen many old buildings fall victim to similar demolitions.

Not to mention, the building’s famed Cloud 9 restaurant makes its final spin tonight. In the weeks leading up to its official closure, getting a reservation has been virtually impossible.

Over 44 years of memories, stories, and amazing views will come crashing down this weekend.

You’ll still be able to get the same views, that is if you have the money to purchase one of the future units being built.
