It’s award season! The 42nd Saturn Awards by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror continues its legacy of honouring and recognizing films and television “often overlooked by mainstream awards.” Yes, that’s a jab at the Emmys, Globes, Oscars and even the Canadian Screen Awards.
The BC Film Industry has been thriving once again thanks to a combination of our world-class production talent, proximity to Hollywood and of course the low loonie. Many Vancouver-filmed series have been nominated in the television categories:

Film nominees also include ones using local firms for post-production or ones filmed in Vancouver like Tomorrowland. The sci-fi flick starring George Clooney was partly shot in British Columbia in Enderby, Vancouver and Surrey. It;s nominated for Best Film Production Design at the 42nd Saturn Awards.
