A Vancouver restaurant in Kitsilano restaurant has been ordered to shutdown by Vancouver Coastal Health after a video has gone viral showing a crowd of supporters.
Customers of Corduory Restaurant were seen chanting, “get out, get out,” to 2 health officials that came in to talk with the restaurant owners. Customers quickly showed support of the owner, Rebecca Matthews, who had decided to stay open despite the recent indoor dining restrictions.

The video, on April 3, shows health officials talking with Matthews and then handing her some forms before leaving. You can hear the crowd in the Vancouver restaurant, as well as see no one but the officials masked.
Matthews has been advocating for supporting small businesses and working to reverse these orders, that she says puts a strain on families. She herself is a mother of four and has said “take-out is nice, but it doesn’t pay the bills.”
