Vancouver Desserts You Must Eat

Are you one of those Yoga-obsessed, clean-eating, fitness fanatics that avoid sweets at all costs? Good, we aren’t either! In fact, we LOVE us some delicious desserts.

If you want to stick to our modified food groups (chocolate, caramel, custard, cream and sugar), then we suggest you check out these FIVE fabulous desserts from right here in the city.

Vancouver Desserts You Must Eat

The Salted Caramel Macaron

There is only one place to get the best macaron (think macaroon) and Thierry Chocolaterie Patisserie Café is totally it. The salted caramel macaron in particular is a must try this year: fluffy centre, salted bits on top a beautifully baked, crisp macaroon. The caramel flavour is subtle, yet packs a punch of sweetness unlike any other macaroon we’ve tried. The selection is great, since Thierry’s constantly rotates their macaron flavours depending on the season. Located at 1059 Alberni Street in Vancouver.

The Honey’s Doughnut

If you have yet to hike at Deep Cove, we have a reason for you put it on your to-do list. Maybe just skip the hike altogether and pop into Honey’s Doughnuts, instead! This little joint boasts the best doughnut we have ever sunk our teeth into. Picture a normal doughnut and multiply that tastiness by 1000000 – then add 2, because this doughnut trumps any other one you’ll ever munch. It’s sweet, crunchy and melts in your mouth all at once. If you’re a doughnut lover, you’ve gotta try this bad boy! Situated at 4373 Gallant Avenue in beautiful North Vancouver.

The Chocolate Pudding Cake

Three words have never gone so well together: Chocolate, pudding and cake. Sweet Revenge whips up a cake too delicious to put into words, other than, “Mmmmmmmm.” It’s basically an inside-out lava cake, with gooey chocolate pudding and moist cake plated perfectly amongst a bed of homemade whipped cream and sweet strawberries. This is hands down the warmest and moistest (yup, that’s a word) cake you’ll ever eat. You’re welcome! Found at 4160 Main Street in Vancouver.

The Brésilienne Waffle

Okay, we all know waffles make great company for breakfast. But have you ever been to Nero Belgian Waffle Bar for dessert? Get in your car, hop on your bike or just run to this place, like right now. The Brésilienne Waffle will make your drool even drool! Firstly, you choose your waffle type: a Brussels waffle – a light and crispy waffle, or a Liege waffle – soft and sweet. Plop some creamy vanilla ice cream on top, with whipped cream, hazelnut crumble and caramel sauce. Boom. You’ve died and gone to waffle heaven, my friends. This waffle is so amazing, you probably will be coming back every day that ends in ‘Y’. Situated at 1703 Robson Street in Vancouver.

The Tiramisu Cake

Coming from an honorary Italian, Tiramisu is a staple dessert in most Italian households. It’s tough to get that perfect coffee taste, moist cake (usually soaked Italian cookies), and the creamiest dollop of mascarpone to deliciously sit atop this tasty creation. Typically, you cannot beat homemade – Breka Bakery & Café challenges this statement. For the most scrumptious Tiramisu cake (slice or whole) in all of the 604, Breka is the place to be. Just make sure to wipe the cream off your face before you visit Nonna! Located at 818 Bute Street, 855 Davie Street AND 6533 Fraser Street in Vancouver.
