Tim Thomas’s first game back in Vancouver since the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals (we swear that’s the first and last time we will bring that up in this article) had the city talking as the Vancouver Canucks prepared to hit the ice against the Florida Panthers.
The Vancouver Canucks twitter account, which is very active during games was sending out tweets as usual, and then out of nowhere, the Edmonton Oilers Twitter account sent out some chirps in which now, they probably regret.. Keep in mind both the Canucks and Oilers are Western Conference rivals so this makes it that much better!
The ‘Twitter beef’ began when the Canucks tweeted the impersonation of what the fans were yelling inside Rogers Arena just prior to the game:
“THOOOOMAS, THOOOOOMAS, THOOOOOOMAS” #Canucks fans welcoming Tim Thomas back to Rogers Arena…

Out of the blue, and literally 3 minutes later, the Oilers took a jab. It’s also important to note the Oilers were currently in the middle of a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Talking too slick for their own good, the Vancouver Canucks quickly put the Oilers back in their place with a upper cut knock out.
