TransLink and the City of Surrey have revealed details and renderings showing what the Surrey-Newton-Guildford Light Rail Transit system may look like.
The initiative is part of the City’s 10-year investment plan to improve transportation in the area. This is the first of two phases in the South of Fraser Rapid Transit Network.

The Surrey LRT system will help better connect the city and provide more transit opportunities to meet the growing population of the city.

It will run along King George Boulevard and 104 Avenue, connecting Surrey City Centre, Guildford and Newtown.
This will be the first light rail transit system in all of BC. Surrey is the ideal spot for the LRT as it will reduce congestion, increase transit capacity and create more jobs for the region.

Phase 1: Surrey-Newton–Guildford Line along 104 Avenue and King George Boulevard
- 10 km of two-way street-level track
- 11 LRT stops
- A new LRT operations and maintenance facility
Phase 2: Surrey–Langley Line along Fraser Highway
- 16 km of two-way track, mostly at street level
- A short elevated segment over the Langley Bypass and CP Rail Corridor
- 8 LRT stops
