The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF) is returning once more for another spring season packed with beautiful pinks, whites, and every pastel shade in between. This year is extra special as the VCBF is celebrating its 20th Annual Festival, marking two whole decades of arts, culture, and community gathering underneath the city’s iconic blooms.

From March 26 to April 17, 2026, you can expect this VCBF to be one of the most expansive in the festival’s history.

What’s Blooming at the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival?

  • The Big Picnic (March 28 – 29, 2026): For the first time ever, The Big Picnic is expanding to a two-day celebration! This year, attendees get to spend even more time connecting with their community underneath the cherry blossom trees, as well as have even more opportunities for fun. From hands-on workshops to viewing live performances, The Big Picnic is here to help you create memories at David Lam Park.
  • Blossom Block Party (April 4, 2026): Bigger and better than ever, the Blossom Block party is back again. Hosted by Public Disco, Dunsmuir Street is going car-free to complement Dunsmuir Plaza’s dance floor and activities. Vibrant, open-air, and exciting, the Blossom Block Party is where you can dance the day away while enjoying the spring season.
  • Blossoms After Dark (March 27 – 28, 2026): Experience the magic of cherry blossoms under the stars. David Lam Park will light up with stunning light installations and roaming performers, creating a magical evening experience you won’t want to miss.
  • Sakura Days Japan Fair (April 11 – 12, 2026): VanDusen Botanical Garden transforms into a Japanese cultural haven. Enjoy traditional tea ceremonies, sake tastings, and performances, all while celebrating the spirit of Japan in Vancouver.
  • Tree Walks and Bike Rides: Explore the cherry blossoms on foot or by bike! Join a guided tour through iconic spots like Queen Elizabeth Park and VanDusen Botanical Garden for the best views of the blossoms.
