A recall has just been issued across Canada for over 13,000 vehicles due to engine failure risks. These manufacturing issues can result in further danger as crashes become more likely in the event of the engine failing.

Vehicle Recall In Canada
The recall concerns both Lexus and Toyota brand vehicles. On certain models, “the engine may not have been manufactured properly,” stated the notice. “As a result, metal debris could cause the crankshaft bearings to fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start.” The engine could also potentially stall while driving due to this.
Notably, this recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 3.4L twin-turbo engine, as well as being an expansion of Transport Canada Recall No. 2024-304.

Crash risks become more prevalent with this engine issue. The notice goes on to read that the company will notify owners by mail. Corrective actions are currently under development for the recall, as well.
