The holiday season is always a time of indulging in all the foods. But you can still get a scenic outdoor workout in to burn off some of those extra calories. The Snowshoe Grind at Grouse Mountain just may be the best way to soak up the beauty of the Winter season and get some exercise in.
An alternative to the Grouse Grind, challenge yourself to their Snowshoe Grind at the top of the mountain. It starts off right at the Grouse Grind timer, which is just outside of the Chalet.
The 4.3-km trek takes you through pristine snow-covered trails with nothing but the sound of snow falling off the trees around you.

With an elevation gain of 240-metres (787 feet), the route should take you about an hour to complete.
Afterwards reward yourself with a drink at Altitudes Bistro or go for a peaceful skate on the epic 8,000-square-foot outdoor rink.
Snowshoes are available to rent ($20) at the Fireside Hut if you don’t have your own.
