Langley Woman Sexually Assaulted While Taking Out The Garbage

A woman was brutally assaulted while taking out her garbage on Tuesday, April 3th in Aldergrove.

According to a release from the Langley RCMP, the woman was grabbed from behind as she put out her trash at approximately 9:30 PM. Afterward, the unknown male forced her back into her home where her violently sexually assaulted her.

In addition to the assault, the male is also suspected of robbery. The victim’s purse was believed to have been taken from the residence and is described as grey with silver trimmings. Before leaving, the male removed the bedding from the scene of the crime.

Police need help to locate the bedding removed from the crime scene as it likely carries clues to the attacker’s identity.

Woman is Sexually Assaulted

The victim was transported to hospital and is understandably traumatized. She will be supported in every possible way by Langley RCMP Client Support and Victim Services.

“It goes without saying that this incident is very disturbing. I can’t stress enough how important it is for residents to be hyper vigilant and always cognizant of their surroundings. If you see someone suspicious in your neighbourhood – call the police. This type of assault effects the safety and security of the entire community. Langley RCMP is treating this as a priority investigation,” stated Superintendent Murray POWER, Officer in Charge Langley RCMP
