Last week Riverdale’s KJ Apa was driving home from an exhausting 16 hour work day when he crashed into a lamp pole.

Apa, who plays Archie Andrews on the hit television show, was headed out of the Fraser Valley on his way back to his Vancouver hotel when he began to fall asleep.

Apa reportedly fell asleep after midnight, while he was making the 45 minute drive after his long day. While he didn’t sustain any serious injuries, his car was rendered inoperable. The entire passenger side was completely destroyed.

Riverdale Cast And Crew Not Provided Transportation

The studio does not provide its cast and crew with transportation to their hotels, which has raised eyebrows among the industry.

Many of the cast and crew are protesting the show’s schedule as well as the availability of transportation.

The incident sparked a debate about the safety measures taken on film sets, in light of many injuries and tragedies in film and television.

Recently, S.J. Harris, a stuntwoman driving a motorcycle in while shooting Deadpool 2, was fatally killed when her stunt when wrong.

Fans of the show, including Doug the Pug, can catch the second season of Riverdale when it premiers on the CW on October 11th
