If you’ve ever wondered what will become of the Garden City Lands Park in Richmond, take a look. The City has some major plans in the works to completely transform the area.
The project will take many years to complete but construction has just begun on the first phase last month—which will work to develop a trail system and a berm to protect and preserve the bog. They will also work on reconstructing the dyke and drainage control structures. The first phase of the construction process will continue into 2017.

Garden City Lands are approximately 136.5 acres and are located at 5555 No. 4 Road. The area is part of the city’s agricultural land reserve and is a conservation and recreation site.
The addition of trails for pedestrians and bicyclists is first on the agenda. It will serve as a green oasis for residents and also be a vital ecological and urban agricultural site. The construction of the lands is in an effort to provide the public with a unique park that is close to the City Centre.
Take a look at what the City is planning for the park and what it could like within the next few years.
