Man Gets Hefty Fine For Driving More Than Double The Speed Limit in Richmond

A local motorist roaring down a Richmond road was pulled over by Richmond RCMP and handed a hefty fine.

Police caught the motorist travelling at a speed of 134 km/h in a 50 km/h zone along Sidaway Road on Thursday morning.

A tweet on the Richmond RCMP’s Twitter account confirm that the driver received a $468 fine and got his car impounded for seven days.

Their tweet also suggests that the driver was possibly running late for work.

Local authorities consistently remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on B.C. roads.
