The open position is for a Senior Border & Travel Health Nurse Advisor at YVR.
The description notes that the job entails conducting complex public health and communicable disease assessments, the application and support of public health legislation, and providing guidance and mentorship to colleagues to promote evidence-informed practice, among many other duties.
“This role requires sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and the ability to operate independently in time-sensitive and evolving situations,” reads the posting.
Those applying are asked to be able to work evening, weekend, and statutory holidays, as well as stand for extended periods of time. You’ll also have to interact with travellers and partners in “challenging or high-stress situations.”

As for schooling, applicants are required to have a degree from a post-secondary institution in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education, or a field relevant to the position. You must also have current valid registration as a Registered Nurse and be a member in good standing in a province or territory in Canada. Moreover, you are asked to have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and you must have completed Public Health Agency of Canada’s Quarantine Officer designation training and pass the exam.
Relevant experience is also essential for the job. This includes experience in a clinical or public health setting relevant to communicable disease or infection prevention and control.
The salary range for this position ranges from $99,042 to $115,426. The closing date for applications is March 16, 2026, 23:59, Pacific Time.
