2015 has been a year full of reboot announcements based on 1990’s hit shows. Among others, Nickelodeon announced a brand new channel for 90’s hits, Will Smith revealed a reboot for Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and now we can add Power Rangers to the list.
It’s been nearly twenty years, but the Power Rangers are officially getting a reboot in what’s reported to be a “mature but playoff” spin off. The revised show will be directed by Dean Isrealite, and scripted by Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller.
According to YVRshoots, the Power Rangers will begin production in Vancouver this winter, and are scheduled to shoot from January 18, 2016 – April 12, 2016 – subject to change. Specific locations have yet to be revealed, but it was uncovered that the film’s code name is “Shirts” according a leaked internal document.
The movie is set to be released in January, 2017. We will update this post as more information becomes available.
