There’s never been a better time to be living in Raincouver than with the recent opening of a brand-new ice cream shop that gives you an extra scoop whenever it rains!
That’s right: the city infamous for its rainfall is getting a spot that gives you free treats whenever the clouds roll over.

One More Scoop
One More Scoop describes itself as “a little piece of summer, every day of the year.” Summer is more than just a season to them; it’s rather a feeling, like watching the sunset on the beach or laughing on the patio with friends. And, of course, getting ice cream no matter the weather.

Made by the same team behind Kits Beach Coffee, One More Scoop is also based near Kitsilano Beach. In a social media post, they wrote about why the shop was brought to life:
It’s been a true labour of love, inspired by everything we love about Kits: beach walks, sunny afternoons, rainy days, familiar faces and finding an excuse to stop for a treat and a conversation while enjoying the neighbourhood. We wanted to create the kind of ice cream shop that feels happy, nostalgic and a little bit magical. A place to grab a scoop after the beach, take the kids for a cone, share a sundae, or something delicious to enjoy the sunset with.
The shop officially opened on September 15, bringing sunshine and smiles to folks around Kits Beach.
A Rainy Day Treat
On their website, the shop says that “rainy days deserve a little sunshine.”
That means when it rains, they pour an extra scoop called a “Sunshine Scoop.” This is an additional scoop of ice cream added to Single and Double Scoops, but you can only get it while it’s raining. It’s a pretty nice benefit for a city that sees plenty of rainfall throughout the year.
