Terry Fox inspired an entire country with his courageous act of running across Canada to raise funds for cancer research.

The Marathon of Hope sparked a flame in the hearts of Canadians.

He ran through ice storms and summer heat, against bitter winds of such velocity he couldn’t move, through fishing villages and Canada’s biggest cities.

On Sunday, September 17th, 2017, metro Vancouver gets ready for the 2017 Terry Fox Run.

Here’s a list of all the runs happening across the region.

Metro Vancouver Terry Fox Runs 2017

Abbotsford

Where: Tradex – Trade and Exhibition Centre
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Route information: Route is accessible for bicycles and wheelchairs, NOT Rollerblades. 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km.

Burnaby

Where: SFU Convocation Mall
When: Friday, September 29th, 2017
Time: 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Route information: The route begins at the Terry Fox statue and ends at Terry Fox field.

Where: Swangard Stadium
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Route information: Suitable for bikes and wheelchairs/strollers, NOT suitable for rollerblades.
Please note: Leashed dogs are welcome throughout Central Park routes, but NOT allowed into Swangard Stadium. Route distance is 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km.

Coquitlam

Where: Mundy Park
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Route information: The route is a combination of gravel and paved pathways. NOT suitable for wheelchairs or rollerblades. Suitable for bikes and strollers. Dogs on leash welcome. Route distance is 5 km.

Delta

Where: North Delta Recreation Centre
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Route information: Suitable for bikes, wheelchairs/strollers and rollerblades. Dogs on leash welcome. Route distance is 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km.

Where: South Delta Recreation Centre
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Route information: Suitable for bikes, wheelchairs/strollers and rollerblades. Dogs welcome on leash. Route distance is 5 km and 10 km.

Langley

Where: Douglas Park – Band Shell
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Route information: Suitable for bikes, wheelchairs/strollers and rollerblades. Dogs on leash welcome. Route distance is 1 km, 5 km, and 10 km.

Where: Walnut Grove Community Centre
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Route information: Suitable for bike only. Dogs on leash welcome. Route distance is 5 km.

New Westminster

Where: New Westminster Quay/Pier Park
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Route information: Suitable for bikes, wheelchairs/strollers and rollerblades; Dogs on leash are welcome. Route distance is 1 km, 2.5 km, and 10 km.

Richmond

Where: Garry Point Park
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Route information: Bikes are accessible on the West Dyke for all routes; Wheelchairs may not be accessible due to a rough surface on the West Dyke and pathways around the park. Rollerblades are NOT accessible. Route distance is 1 km, 5 km, and 10 km.

Surrey

Where: Cloverdale Legion
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Route information: Suitable for bikes, wheelchairs/strollers and rollerblades. Dogs on leash welcome. Route distance is 1 km, 5 km, and 10 km.

Where: Fleetwood Park
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Route information: Bikes are accessible but not wheelchairs and rollerblades. Route distance is 1km, 3.5km, 7km, and 10km.

Where: Fraser Heights Recreation Centre
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Route information: Suitable for bikes, wheelchairs, strollers and rollerblades. Dogs welcome on a leash. Route distance is 2 km, 5 km, 10 km.

Where: Rotary Field House
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Route information: Suitable for bikes, but not suitable for wheelchairs and rollerblades. Route distance is 1.6 km and 6 km.

Where: SFU Surrey – Holland Park
When: Friday, September 29th, 2017
Time: 12:30 p.m.

Vancouver

Where: Stanley Park (Ceperly Park)
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Route information: Suitable for bikes, wheelchairs/strollers and rollerblades. Dogs on leash welcome.Route distance is 3 km and 10 km.

Where: SFU Vancouver
