Keep Your Love Lockdown On Burrard Bridge

As Kanye would say, it’s best to keep your love lockdown!

Love locks (also known as love padlocks) are a custom by which padlocks are affixed to a fence, gate, bridge or similar public fixture by sweethearts at an increasing number of locations in the world to symbolize their everlasting love.

The tradition began in Paris when couples would “lock” their padlocks onto a bridge & photograph one another in front of their locks, and videotape the throwing of the keys into the water beneath the bridge.

It seems as though the same phenomenon has reached Vancouver and the locations of love is Burrard St Bridge. Below is a recent picture taken from the Burrard Bridge with 7 padlocks representing the love of 14 Vancouverites, a number we’re show will grow.
