Highway 99 in Delta will experience overnight road closures in both directions on Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11 as construction for the 78th Street overpass continues. Drivers are asked to prepare for the closures, and plan for extra travel time.

Highway 99 Road Closures
Crews will be installing new bridge girders for the 78th Street overpass, which requires two overnight closures so that the work can be completed safety.
According to a notice from the B.C. government, “closures will start each evening with single lanes in each direction before progressing to full highway closures one hour later:
- southbound lane closures will start at 7 p.m., followed by a full southbound closure at 8 p.m.
- northbound lane closures will begin at 8 p.m., followed by a full northbound closure at 9 p.m.”
Drivers can expect the closures to be in place between the Highway 91 and Highway 17 interchanges, with Highway 99 reopening in both directions by 5:00am each morning.
Traffic will be detoured via Highway 91 and Highway 17 during the closures. All vehicles, which includes commercial traffic, will have to exit Highway 99 at Exit 16 for northbound traffic and Exit 26 for southbound traffic.

Be sure to plan for additional travel time and expect minor delays on Highway 99, Ladner Trunk Road, Highway 91 and surrounding roads during the work.
