This intoxicatingly aquamarine lake looks like a tropical oasis; however, it is close to home for most residents of the Lower Mainland.

In fact, the total travel time from most parts of Metro Vancouver is roughly 2 hours. What’s more, the area offers a multitude of activities to enjoy all year round.

Located in Whistler, Green Lake stuns visitors with its clear waters and heavenly hue. Fed by glacial streams, the water is decidedly less warm than those in the Caribbean; however, the colour is no less vivid.

Indeed, the teal-toned lake shimmers under the piercing rays of the alpine sun. What’s more, it is the largest body of water on the mountain. During the summer months, it is the perfect place to enjoy myriad water sports. Favourite activities include paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, boating and more.

Green Lake Whistler

Green Lake is located North of the Whistler Village, and is a 5 minute drive from the Aspens Condos. For those looking for alternative ways to get to the mountain, various float planes depart right out of Vancouver and land in the lake.

Harbour Air, Westcoast Air, and Whistler Air all make trips between the two stops, and offer a stunning ariel perspective of the Pacific Northwest. They schedule scenic seaplane tours that depart at 10am, 12:45pm, 4pm, and 6pm daily in the summer.

Visitors may also paddle down from Alta Lake to Green Lake on the River of Golden Dreams. In addition, there’s also picnic tables along the shoreline, so you can enjoy lunch in the picturesque setting.

Similarly, there is another lesser-known Canadian gem that is reminiscent of the Caribbean. Located on the east side of Canada in a chain of breathtaking islands, it is also divinely beautiful.

If you’re looking for another magical experience, this hike in BC allows you to come up close and personal with wolves.
