While our northern nation is home some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, some secret islands in Canada might be the most stunning of all.
Nova Scotia has a chain of islands off of its Eastern Shore that look like absolute paradise.

The islands, known as the “100 Wild Islands,” are a group of mesmerizing formations that range from tiny rocky formations to beautiful, stretches of green land lined with Caribbean-like white sandy beaches.

The islands are actually comprised of 282 separate formations, located between Clam Harbour and Mushaboom.
The province views the islands as extremely valuable and in dire need of protection. The Nova Scotia Nature Trust is putting $7 million towards conservation efforts aimed at preserving the pristine beauty of these rare treasures.

In an interview with CBC Hawkins said that, “The water is crystal clear, you get visibility of up to 50 feet in some cases and the islands are in a very pristine state, almost unchanged since glaciers retreated from that area,” he said. “It’s really kind of like looking back at what this area would have looked like before any kind of human activities.”

The photos of the water convey how pristine the area is, and also how unique. Most Canadians are unaware of this secret paradise in Nova Scotia, and are surprised to see that such a thing exists in our country.
While the province is aware that tourism could potentially harm the island’s ecosystem, it is taking measures in nature preservation before the industry takes off.
