Local soccer athletes and coaches looking to learn and watch the best can do so for free when the Australian National Team hosts an open practices in Vancouver.
The team will be in Vancouver this week training for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 and host open practices at Trillium Park, on 600 National Avenue, from 10:00am – 12:00pm on the following dates:
- Tuesday, May 26, 2015
- Monday, June 1, 2015
After the two hour practice, Australian Coach Alen Stajcic will host a coach and athlete question and answer session, player interviews, and a team meet-and-greet with the public.
Team Australia is in group D of tournament which is considered the tournament’s toughest pool. Although none of Team Australia’s games will be held in Vancouver, the team still chose to train here.
The team will play its opening matches in Winnipeg and Edmonton on:
- June 8 – AUS vs USA (Winnipeg)
- June 12 – AUS vs NGA (Winnipeg)
- June 16 – AUS vs SWE (Edmonton)
Vancouver is just one of the six Canadian hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup, June 6 to July 5.
