Night market | Shipyards Night Market

The Shipyards Night Market opens this weekend on Friday, May 4th and goes until Friday, September 28th, 2018.

Visitors will find fresh food, locally made products, musicians, art and entertainment every Friday night. The festivities in the Square kick off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday nights. In addition, there is live music until 10:00 p.m. on the Shipbuilders’ Stage, showcasing talent from all over BC.

Exhibit | Haida Now

Guest curated by Haida Curator Kwiaahwah Jones in collaboration with Viviane Gosselin, Co-curator and Director of Collections & Exhibitions at MOV, this exhibition features an unparalleled collection of Haida art boasting more than 450 works created as early as 1890.

Museum | Culture at the Centre

The Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at UBC presents a groundbreaking collaboration between six First Nations Communities with the illuminating new exhibition Culture at the Centre, on display this weekend until Monday, October 8th, 2018.

Enjoy the Space Centre after hours at this galaxy far, far away celebration “May the 4th Be With You”. Parents and kids are encouraged to come dressed as your favourite Rebel or Empire character.

Art | Art in the City

Art in the City is Vancouver’s premier fine arts market in the beautiful West End. This free three-day event will be held at the West End Community Centre from May 4-6. The market showcases the work of professional artists in a variety of media including painting, sculpture and photography.

Junk | Surrey Pop-Up Junk Drop

The City of Surrey allows residents to dispose of their unwanted items completely free of charge at the Pop-up Junk Drop events. To gain entry, however, you must present a valid government issued identification that proves you are a Surrey resident. No valid ID means no entry. You can drop off furniture and mattresses, electronics, appliances, and much more.


Exercise | Bright Aerobics Class

Join Hannah Fletcher, one of Vancouver’s top trainers and Fit In 30’s very own co-owner, in a 30 minute 90’s tight n bright aerobics workout.

Toys | Vintage Toy Show

Art | Dali Exhibition

Opened in 2005, Chali Rosso Art Gallery focuses mainly on works from Picasso, Monet, Matisse, Degas, and more. The Gallery is holding a free Salvador Dali exhibition starting this May up until September.

As part of the Definitely Dali Project, two iconic Dali sculptures will be arriving at the Chali-Rosso Art Gallery this summer: Woman Aflame and Surrealist Piano.

Market | Trout Lake Farmers Market

Trout Lake Farmers Market takes place every Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. from May 5th – October 20th.

The 2nd annual BC Cider Festival takes place this weekend on Sunday, May 6th, 2018. This tasting event will feature 20+ cideries from BC, the Pacific Northwest, and abroad.

Attendees will be able to sample ciders from each of the producers over the course of the day and won’t need to worry about tokens.
