Vancouver’s summer heat wave returned for the final night of the 23rd annual Honda Celebration of Light with team “Fireworks Spectacular” from Canada wins top honours and wowing fireworks fans with a thrilling show on day two of the three day event narrowly beating out teams from the United Kingdom and Thailand.
To win the annual firework competition, team performances were scored by a panel of local judges based on five criteria: concept, colour choices, originality, quality of production and correlation of the fireworks with music. Fans also had the chance to vote for their favourite performance online.
“We had terrific weather for all three nights, with many coming down earlier to take in SHOREfest music series at Sunset Beach and English Bay” said Andrea Dowd-Dever, Producer of the 2013 Honda Celebration of Light, “It is wonderful to see so many people enjoying this amazing event and we can’t wait for next year.”
The Honda Celebration of Light saw over 1.2 Million fans this year coming from communities across the Lower Mainland and throughout BC.
Dates for the 2014 event will be announced by the end of September.
