Breka’s expansion across Metro Vancouver continues. After nearly two decades of operating exclusively within the City of Vancouver, the beloved 24 hour bakery is now pushing beyond city limits. Following news that Surrey is getting its first Breka location, the popular bakery has now been spotted preparing to open in Richmond.
This marks another major milestone for the Vancouver born brand and its first ever location in the city.
Breka’s first Richmond location
Signage for Breka Bakery and Cafe has recently appeared at CF Richmond Centre, near the mall’s newer residential and retail development along Park Road. While the bakery has yet to make an official announcement, the visible signage strongly suggests that a Richmond location is now in the works.
Breka has become a household name across Vancouver thanks to its 24 hour service and extensive menu of cakes, pastries, sandwiches, donuts, and coffee. Despite operating multiple locations, all of its stores have remained within Vancouver until very recently.
The Richmond location will be only the second suburban expansion for Breka, following the upcoming Surrey outpost at King George Hub.
Metro Vancouver Expansion
Breka first opened in 2006 near Fraser Street and 49th Avenue as a small family run bakery. Since then, it has grown steadily into one of the city’s most popular bakeries, particularly known for serving students, night shift workers, and late night dessert seekers around the clock.
Earlier this year, 604 Now reported that Breka would be opening its first Surrey location near King George Station, bringing the 24 hour bakery experience to another part of Metro Vancouver. The newly spotted Richmond location signals that the brand’s expansion is well underway.
Breka Richmond Opening Date
At this time, there is no confirmed opening date for the Richmond location. Based on the early stage of development, an opening sometime in early 2026 is most likely.
Breka has not yet shared any official details, but anticipation is already building among Richmond residents.
