Zabu Chicken

Recommended by:  Bonnie and Bonyo (@foodlees)

What they had to say about it:  The perfect way to enjoy the warm weather is sharing fried chicken and a pitcher of beer with friends on a patio! Zabu Chicken serves yummy Korean-style fried chicken every day from the afternoon to late into the night. Their chicken was seasoned and fried nicely – super crunchy and juicy at the same time! They also have other dishes, like bibimbap, Korean stews, seafood pancake, and noodles.

What they had to say about it:  All Vancouverites know that Zabu is one of the best spots to get Korean fried chicken in our city, but have you heard about Cocoru?

Located in Richmond, Cocoru is a Korean restaurant specializing in fried chicken, snacks, and drinks! They have unique dishes like “snowfall” cheesy chicken and deep fried dukkboki (in the picture above). You can count on this place to satisfy all your late night greasy cravings. Looking for soju bombs, Korean imports, or delicious calpis mixers to down all that chicken with? This is your place.

What they had to say about it: This 24/7 cafe offers yummy and delicious desserts. Their pistachio ganache is to die for. It has a good balance of both pistachio and chocolate flavour and the chocolatey ganache texture compliments the pistachio mousse really well. It was nice and rich and it wasn’t too sweet. You can grab this any time of day.

Flip Side Desserts

Recommended by: Sylvia (@food.thyme)

What they had to say about it: What better way to solve those late night dessert cravings than with all purple dessert? Flip Side Desserts serves Filipino inspired dessert which includes a wide selection of ube cake, ice cream, and milkshakes. I recommend trying their signature ube cake which has a similar texture to a sponge cake but with rich flavour and topped off with ube icing. It’ll definitely leave you wanting more!

Frites Granville

What they had to say about it: Frites Granville offers a huge variety of unique poutines. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Poutine which filled me up and hit the spot! The chicken paired with the poutine was not too salty. I totally recommend this place if you’re looking for a late night snack.

What they had to say about it: Anyone up for a late night dessert after dinner? One snazzy place to hit up is Snackshot. From the moment you walk in, you will be immediately immersed in Hong Kong culture thanks to the decor. This Hong Kong-style dessert shop offers traditional and trendy sweet soups, street snacks, and drinks. The most Instagrammable desserts are their signature Sweet Soup Tasting Platter, Wooden Bucket Tofu Pudding, and Mahjong Tiles Coconut Pudding. In terms of drinks, their Bulldog series is definitely a must try, which is simply dunking a bottle of one drink into a mug of another. The inspiration came from the owner’s love for Mexican bulldogs, which is a margarita topped with an entire bottle of Corona. Of the four Bulldogs offered there, my favourite is the Vitasoy Milk with Red Bean (a red bean ice topped with a bottle of Vitasoy).
