“To begin the study, we first determined a global list of 100 in-demand cities. Then we analyzed their demographics, split by marital status and age” reads the report.
“We took special care in determining if a city allows the LGBT+ community to freely express their love, because a location can only be deemed good for love if it allows every person equal opportunities in amore”.
A total of 18,135 expatriates took part, representing 178 nationalities and living in 187 countries or territories.
Vancouver came in at 29 out of 100 cities total. Toronto was 24th and Montreal came in at 25th.
This study analyzed 100 in-demand cities around the world which are popular for employment and cultural opportunities in order to determine if they are “good for finding love”.
While love is defined in a myriad of ways around the globe, the study concentrated on long-term, romantic love focusing on two main categories: Love Infrastructure and Romance: Love Infrastructure is focussed on the potential to find a (new) partner and Romance looks at the dating experience including the city’s attitude towards sex (sex positive).
