Jam Cafe

Recommended by: Sylvia (@food.thyme)

What they had to say about it: If there’s one place in Vancouver that is worth lining up for, it’s definitely this gem!  Jam Cafe serves comfort brunch favourites like poached eggs and chicken and waffles but my personal favourite dish is the gravy coops! It comes with your choice of protein (fried chicken, pork belly or chorizo) and is topped off with sausage. You can also opt-in for the vegetarian-friendly portobello mushroom and mushroom gravy. Fortunately us, the cozy spot recently opened up a bigger second location in Kitsilano!

The Gray Olive Cafeteria

Brunch Experience Part 1 – Chicken & Waffles⁣ ⁣ Our first time visiting the The Gray and Olive on Hastings across from our favourite ramen joint (strangely we didn't know notice this place before). Served with what they call Korean Spicy ketchup, the batter was excellent and there's definitely more chicken than batter. It was juicy and beyond flavourful. The waffles felt heavy but that's probably because of the butter and syrup kicking in and maybe even the batter they use. Regardless, it was a good mix of savoury and sweet, a classic dish that they served on point. Side note: get their Thai iced tea, it was one of the best we've ever had! 😬⁣ ⁣ 📍@thegrayolive l Burnaby, BC

What they had to say about it: This Burnaby spot is extremely popular brunch location and for a good reason.  Their chicken and waffles were amazing. There was a perfect balance of sweet and savoury and the batter was done just right. Don’t forget to top it off with their spicy ketchup!

Yolks Breakfast

When you finally finish finals and have to post on Instagram to assure everyone you're still alive ~ Did you miss me? 😏 📸: French Toast, Chicken and Waffles, and Southern Eggs Benedict @yolksbreakfast After 2 gruelling weeks of sleepless nights and constant studying, I'm happy to report that I now have 3 weeks of break, so HMU with hangout requests, tasting invitations, etc., because I am READY for some FUN 😆 (before I inevitably return to school and become a hermit again in January) These pictures are from brunch with some of my classmates this morning, and it was exactly what we needed after a hard night of, uh, socializing 😉 The Chicken and Waffles were delicious with the crispy chicken and light, fluffy waffles. It was made even better by the accompanying gravy and maple syrup, as I loved the sweet-and-savoury combination. However, I must admit that my sweet tooth was low-key jealous of @katherinebrownart's French Toast 😋 What are your weekend plans? #brunch #frenchtoast #chickenandwaffles #eggsbenedict #friedchicken #eggsbenny #sweetandsavory #dessert #dessertporn #dessertforbreakfast #dishedvan #curiocityvan #eatcouver #foodcouver #igvancouver #nomsmag #604now #vancouverfoodie #yvrfood #vancityeats #teamchomp #tryitordiet #foodgasm #foodporn #foodphotography #foodshot #comfortfood #foodstagram #foodbeast #eatfamous

What they had to say about it: Yolk’s makes one of the best chicken & waffles in the city. With crispy-on-the-outside but tender-on-the-inside fried chicken on top of light, fluffy waffles, this is all doused in a thick gravy and maple syrup. The result is a delicious sweet-and-savoury combination. Other highlights from their menu include the truffle-lemon hashbrowns, eggs benny (which you can customize to your preferences), and French toast.

The Victor

Best burger I’ve had in town. This photo does not do it justice at all! . . 📷 Wagyu breakfast burger: fried egg, thick bacon, tomato jam, triple cooked fries . . The Wagyu beef was so tender and so juicy! It was so thick too! The burger itself was so filling already and the addition of bacon and egg was so perfect. This was so worth the $24. @thevictorvancouver . . #wagyu #wagyusteak #wagyubeef #wagyuburger #wagyubeefburger #parq #downtownvancouver #bestburger #burger #bestburgerintown #brunch #brunchvancouver #dailyhivevan #dieinvan #yvreats #vancityeats #yvrfoodies #vancouvereats #ufeastwefeast #dishedvan #instafoodie #vancouverfoodie #gastropostvan #vancouverfood #vancityexplore #letsguide #eatcouver #vandiary #topvancouverrestaurants #yelpvancouver

What they had to say about it:  If you are looking for a spot for fancy brunch, we highly recommend The Victor. Their Wagyu breakfast burger has to be the best burger in town! We have had Wagyu beef many times but nothing came even close to this! The ambience is also elegant and beautiful. Definitely check this place out!

Fable Kitchen

Recommended by:  @vanfoodventure

What they had to say about it: Fable Kitchen is a highly recommended brunch spot in Kitsilano. Their farm-to-table concept (hence the name “Fable”) ensures that the freshest of ingredients make their way to the table. The most popular brunch item, Benny of the Day, is my favourite. True to its name, the Benny of the Day changes with the flavours of the season, but is always made with olive oil hollandaise, and comes with fresh salad and potatoes. Other popular brunch items include the scrambled eggs and croque madame. For brunch lovers, rejoice that you don’t have to wait until the weekend to enjoy these brunch classics, because Fable Kitchen also offers them on weekdays (Wednesdays to Fridays).
