Beer and Wine Are Coming To Select BC Ferries Sailings Next Month

BC Ferries

In April, a leaked company memo obtained by The Orca revealed that BC Ferries would be selling wine and beer on select vessels in the near future.

On Monday, BC Ferries announced that they’re adding beer and wine to the Pacific Buffet menu on a trial basis, starting in late October.

“Many of our customers have said they would like to have a glass of wine or beer with their meal while sailing with us,” says Melanie Lucia, Executive Director of Catering and Terminal Operations.

“We look for ways to enhance the customer experience and are pleased to now offer these beverages in the Pacific Buffet.”

The Pacific Buffet menu is available on three vessels servicing the Vancouver – Victoria (Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay) route: The Spirit of Vancouver Island, the Spirit of British Columbia and the Coastal Celebration.

Those who purchase an alcoholic beverage from the buffet area must be 19+ and order a meal as well. Alcoholic beverages will be limited to one drink per customer.

This trial will continue for one year and BC Ferries will then review its success to see if it should continue on a more permanent basis.
