A dissatisfied B.C. woman is filing a class action lawsuit against Air Transat for allegedly ruining her dream wedding.

The bride claims that the airline misrepresented her flights as non-stop in order to sell the tickets at a higher price. She adds that they also saved costs by using sub-standard aircraft to transport passengers.

The woman, Jessica Spencer, resides in Victoria on Vancouver Island. Vancouver law firm Rosenberg Kosakoski LLP is representing her and also on behalf of the other passengers on board the flight.

While the flight was labeled “non-stop,” Spencer claims it made stops that were not disclosed to the passengers until after takeoff.

While the flight did have stops, the National Post reports that, “Both planes were originally bound for Montreal — one from Brussels, the other from Rome — but were forced to divert to Ottawa due to weather conditions. They were among about 20 other planes that couldn’t land in Montreal or Toronto during a two-hour window.

Spencer is adamant that the extra stops and experience on board ruined her dream wedding.
