This September, Air Canada announced that it will be significantly expanding its global network with a new direct route to one of China’s biggest cities: Guangzhou.

“Our government recently visited Guangzhou as part of our work to diversify trade around the world and promoted our strengths – our world-class ports and airports, clean energy and abundant resources. This new direct flight makes it faster and easier to do business with one of China’s largest economic hubs, helping to strengthen the economic ties between us during a time of global uncertainty,” said B.C. Premier David Eby.
Vancouver to Guangzhou
Guangzhou is the capital city of Guangdong, and is the largest city in southern China.
For all you dim sum and Cantonese cuisine lovers, then you’ll be excited to know that Guangzhou is actually the birthplace of this beloved food culture. Vancouver already has some of the best dim sum you can find outside of China, so just imagine how good it is in the place where it was created!
Guangzhou is also packed with plenty of sightseeing and things to do. Whether you want to climb to the top of an observation tower or visit a temple, you’ll be surrounded by experiences you can only find in this city.
Air Canada will be launching its direct Vancouver to Guangzhou service on May 4, 2027. It plans to be available year-round, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
