Canuck the crow is officially a father.

After spending his teenage years riding the skytrain to Metrotown, and his young adult-life being misunderstood and causing a ruckus, the popular bird is now moving onto the next stage of his life.

The fascinating news was posted on social media by Shawn Bergman, who runs the “Canuck and I’ Facebook page as Canuck’s “buddy”.

According to an update, the beloved crow has been nest building with a female crow named Cassiar over the past couple of weeks. This eventually led them to the “next step” where they sat on the eggs.

“Through countless hours of standing and observing through a telescope (provided by neighbours Barbara and Brian), a pair of binoculars (provided by my friend Ray), and of course the naked eye. Accompanied by hours of reading research online, and through consulting with Ornithologist Rob Butler….I am extremely happy and proud to announce that on April 29th, 2018 Canuck and Cassiar became parents” wrote Bergman in a Facebook post.

The exact number of eggs in the nest has yet to be confirmed.

However, we can all do our part and congratulate the city’s most famous crow and his new family.

“I will post further details of how all of this was discovered, but for now please help me Congratulate Canuck and Cassiar on the hatching of their very first group of kids”.

His Facebook page, Canuck and I, currently has over 100,000 fans
