It’s September when the PNE is wrapping up and rain usually starts falling, but this year is a little different.
Labour Day long weekend may just be the hottest weather we’ve seen all Summer long.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning Metro Vancouver about the hot weekend ahead:
An unseasonably strong ridge of high pressure is forecast to build over British Columbia this weekend. Temperatures will start to climb on Friday and will push into the low 30s by Sunday for areas away from the immediate coast.Under this weather pattern, the airmass will also become quite stagnant. Combined with developing outflow winds, it is possible that wildfire smoke will eventually make its way out to the coast.
They’re expecting the hot weather will last until at least Tuesday.
With that being said, make sure to pack your sunscreen and stay hydrated wherever you are.
